The legend himself Master Rickson Gracie held a double-header of seminars at the Gracie Morumbi Headquarters in Ventura, California this past Sunday on March 25. This special event was hosted by Professor Fabio Leopoldo who is the founder and head instructor at Gracie Morumbi. Many black belts and students of all ranks traveled from all over to get a chance to train under the 8th degree black and red belt known as the Champion of the Gracie Family.
During the seminars the mat was absolutely filled with eager students who were very excited for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Master Rickson Gracie showed many techniques that he has used over the years. His “invisible Jiu-Jitsu” showed students how to stay connected, even when not touching your opponent. There were many subtle hints and moves shown that the attendees of the seminars will surely use for the rest of their Jiu-Jitsu careers.
Both seminars were a pleasant experience for all who attended. You could see the happiness in everyone’s face, as this kind of opportunity to train with one of the true greats doesn’t come around too often. After the seminars Master Rickson greeted the attendees, signed many autographs and even took pictures with all who asked. It was a great day to be a part of Gracie Morumbi and the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu family.
